Green Lake Sole 5K Run
The Green Lake Sole 5K Run takes place on October 17, 2026 at the basketball courts by East Green Lake Beach and the Green Lake Playfields in Seattle. The event is a 5K race and walk partnered with YouthCare; proceeds will go to buy shoes for Seattle youth experiencing homelessness.
The route begins at the Green Lake basketball courts, loops around Green Lake, goes around the outside of the Green Lake playfields, and finishes back at the basketball courts. Parking is available at East Green Lake Beach and in nearby neighborhood streets.
Participants compete in male, female, and non-binary categories. Within those categories there are age groups for 1 to 14 years, 15 to 20 years, 20 to 40 years, and 40 years and older. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group and to the top three overall finishers in each gender category; top three overall finishers do not receive a separate age group medal.
Timing is done by hand and online results will be provided. Registration opens August 22, 2026 and closes October 17, 2026; the entry fee is $15. The event will not issue refunds. Dogs and strollers are not allowed due to event insurance. Extra donations are accepted and will support YouthCare programs for youth ages 12 to 24, including shelters and job training.
