Green Lake Road Race
The Green Lake Road Race is held in Spicer, Minnesota, featuring a course that circles around Green Lake. Participants can choose between several entry formats:
- 12 Miles (Individual)
- 6 Miles (2-Person Relay)
- 3 Miles (4-Person Relay)
The relay options use specific exchange points located around the lake. For the 2-person relay, the exchange occurs at the 6 mile mark. The 4-person relay has exchange points at the 3.25 mile, 6 mile, and 9 mile marks. A bus service is provided for relay participants, departing from the Spicer Legion parking lot to transport runners to their exchange points and back to the finish area. Restrooms and water are available at each exchange point.
Course support includes water stations located at the 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 mile marks, with Gatorade available upon request. Two utility vehicles also patrol the route to provide extra water if needed. Participants are required to wear their bib numbers on the front of their shirts for timing purposes.
Post-race refreshments are provided to all runners at the finish. The event features multiple age divisions for men and women, ranging from 10 and under to 85 and older, as well as a family category based on the average time of two family members. Medals are awarded to the top male and female finishers, and the top three individuals in each age division. All participants who register by the specified deadline are guaranteed a race shirt.
