Green Drive Five
The Green Drive Five is a road race organised by Lytham St Annes Road Runners. Established in 2000, it is held in October and incorporates the Lancashire AA 5 Mile Championships. The five mile course is accurately measured, described as flat, and runs from Green Drive along Preston Road into the rural lanes around Warton before returning to the finish in the Green Drive area.
A separate junior event, the Green Drive Junior Mile, is held in advance of the senior race. The junior mile is an accurately measured off-road out-and-back course along Green Drive for athletes aged 4 to 15. All junior finishers receive a medal. All 5 mile finishers receive a tech T-shirt.
Entry is available online via Bookitzone and on race day subject to race limits; previous years have sold out. Numbers must be collected in person at Race HQ; none are mailed. Race HQ is at Sticky Chocolate Bakehouse, Park View Road, Lytham FY8 4JE, a short walk from the start. Toilets and refreshments are available at Race HQ but there are no changing or kit storage facilities. Car parking is available on the Ballam Road side of Park View playing fields and on nearby streets.
The event is held under UKA rules, the course has an accuracy certificate, and attached runners born or resident in Lancashire for at least nine months may enter the Lancashire championship at no extra charge. Headphones are not permitted on the senior course when on open public roads; use may lead to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
