Great Welsh Marathon Events
The Great Welsh Marathon Events take place at Pembrey Country Park and start on the National Closed Road Cycle Circuit. The multi-distance event uses parkland and the Millennium Coastal Path, with sections through woodland and coastal views. The half marathon turns in the coastal village of Pwll; the marathon continues along the coastal path, through North Dock and past Machynys Golf Club.

The course is described as very flat, with a maximum elevation of 18 metres and an overall gain of 110 metres for the marathon. The event is UKA licensed and AIMS certified and is included in the World Marathon Majors global ranking.
Hydration and facilities are provided along the routes by Brecon Carreg, with water stations at kilometre 5 of the 10K, at miles 3, 6, 9.5 and 12 of the half marathon, and at miles 3, 6, 10, 14, 18.5, 22.5 and 25 of the marathon; water is also available at the finish. Toilets are located on course and in the race village, including women-only facilities. St John Cymru Wales provides medical cover across the route. On-site camping and event parking are available within Pembrey Country Park; parking is managed locally and charges apply.
Entries are not available on race day for the half marathon or marathon. Race packs are posted about two weeks before the event and include a race number with integrated timing chip and safety pins.
