Great Welsh Marathon Events
The Great Welsh Marathon Events is a road race meeting that offers three distances: a marathon, a half marathon and a 10K. The event is UKA licensed and AIMS certified and is listed as a World Marathon Majors qualifying race. The organisers plan to relocate the race to a new home in 2027 and will publish the new route details when available; previous editions have featured coastal scenery and a flat elevation profile.
Race packs are posted out approximately two weeks before race day and include a race number with an integrated timing chip and safety pins. Hydration on course is provided by Brecon Carreg, with water points located at kilometre 5 of the 10K; at miles 3, 6, 9.5 and 12 of the half marathon; and at miles 3, 6, 10, 14, 18.5, 22.5 and 25 of the marathon. Water is also available at the finish. Toilets are provided on the course and in the race village, including women-only facilities.
Entry management, transfers, deferrals and refund rules: entries are transferable by set deadlines, with a minimum transfer charge for person-to-person transfers and a specified fee for approved deferrals; refunds are not offered except via a separately purchased third-party ticket protection policy. Medical cover is provided along the route.
