Great River Bridge Race
The Great River Bridge Race takes place on September 19, 2026, in Burlington, Iowa. The event begins and finishes at the Port of Burlington (400 N. Front Street). It offers multiple route options that allow participants to cross the Great River Bridge on foot.
Event distances include:
- 10k (6.2K), timed, registration fee $30
- 5k (3.1K), timed, registration fee $30
- Bridge Walk (1.5 miles), untimed, registration fee $25
The 10k and 5k are timed and scored by Nonstop Race Management and results are posted online. Placement medals will be awarded to the top three men and top three women in the 10k and 5k. Registration opens July 1, 2026; registrants who sign up before September 2 are guaranteed a SoftStyle ring spun cotton T-shirt.
Proceeds from the 2026 event support the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department and will fund improvements at North Hill Park and its playground. Packet pickup is available on Friday, September 18 at Burlington City Hall from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, or on race day beginning at 8:00 am at the Port of Burlington.
