NYCRUNS Great Gobble 5K - Prospect Park
The NYCRUNS Great Gobble is a 5K (about 3.1 miles) held on November 21, 2026 at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. The course is just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a final sprint up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF-certified.
The event benefits the YMCA of Greater New York. Listed examples of impact include: $25 to mentor a teen through college applications, $50 to provide a family with a week of groceries, $100 to support online English classes for immigrant families, and $500 to assist a local family with childcare.
The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and can be accessed via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Start corrals are pace-based, assigned by letter (AA-F), and are located on Well House Drive about a five-minute walk from the Festival Area.
Amenities include bag check (single clear bag 18 x 24 required, subject to search), portable bathrooms in corrals and along the course, on-course water, post-race refreshments (Essentia water, Gatorade, an apple, and a bagel with schmear), a participant tech shirt available on race morning only, and a finisher medal. Race photos include one free download per participant; discounted photo packages may be purchased.
Additional notes: NYCRUNS members receive benefits such as a 10% race discount and free bib mailing when eligible. The event supports Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions. Standard no-refunds, no-transfers policy applies. Strollers and dogs are not allowed.
