Event
The NYCRUNS Great Gobble 5K takes place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The race follows just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a final sprint up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses for this event are USATF-certified.
Course, access and logistics
The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or walking paths off Well House Drive. Start corrals use a pace-based system (AA-F) and are located on Well House Drive. Bib pick-up is available in the Festival Area on race day; mailed bibs are available for members or for an added fee if ordered at least 20 days before the event and sent to a U.S. address. Bike parking in the Festival Area is prohibited.
Amenities, awards and policies
Amenities include bag check (single clear bag required), portable bathrooms, water on course, Gatorade and water at the finish, post-race refreshments (pretzels, an apple, and a bagel with schmear), a race shirt and a Finisher Medal, and race photos delivered after the event. Results will be posted online and emailed; awards go to the top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers by gun time, and top three in each age group by net/chip time (age groups from 9 and under through 70 and over).
