NYCRUNS Great Gobble 5K
The NYCRUNS Great Gobble 5K takes place on November 21, 2026 in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. The event is a 5K (about 3.1 miles) course that runs just under a full loop of the park and finishes with a sprint up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF certified.
The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. The Festival Area handles bib pickup, shirt distribution, bag check, bathrooms, and general race information. Bike parking in the Festival Area is prohibited.
NYCRUNS uses a pace based start corral system, with corrals assigned AA through F from the pace listed on a runner’s NYCRUNS Dashboard. The Start Corrals are located on Well House Drive, about a five minute walk from the Festival Area.
On course and event amenities include bag check (one single clear bag required, NYCRUNS will provide a clear bag if needed), portable bathrooms, water on course, and Gatorade and water at the finish. Post race refreshments include a bag of pretzels, an apple, and a bagel with schmear. Every participant receives an official race tech shirt distributed on race day and a finisher medal at the finish. Race photos include one eligible free download and optional paid photo packages.
Bibs are available for race day pickup in the Festival Area with a unique QR code. NYCRUNS members may receive bib mailing at no charge; non members may add mailed bib service for a fee and mailing requires registration at least 20 days before the event and a U.S. mailing address.
Mass transit is recommended. Closest subway access includes the S and Q to Prospect Park and the F and G to 15th St Prospect Park. Bus stops and Citi Bike stations are noted near the park and on the race page. Drop off is suggested at 101 Prospect Park Southwest. Handcycle and Wheelchair Division athletes are accommodated and should ensure their account reflects that designation and plan to arrive early for bib pickup.
NYCRUNS members receive a 10 percent race discount and other member benefits. Entry fees vary by date with sample rates ranging from $35 for early registration to $75 at the end of online registration. Registration closes the day before the race or earlier if capacity is reached.
Results are emailed and posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non binary finishers overall by gun time and to the top three in each listed age group by net chip time. Event policies include no refunds and no transfers, race credit options for members, no strollers or dogs, restrictions on earbuds that hinder awareness, prohibition of confetti cannons, and enforced time limits on course.
