NYCRUNS Great Gobble 5K in Prospect Park, Brooklyn
The NYCRUNS Great Gobble 5K is a 3.1-mile race held in Prospect Park on November 21, 2026. The course covers just under one full loop of the park with a final sprint up Center Drive to the finish. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF-certified. Participants receive an official race shirt and a Finisher Medal.
The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Bib pickup, shirt distribution, bag check, and portable bathrooms are available in the Festival Area on race day. Bag check requires a single clear bag (18 x 24 inches) and staff may search bag contents. Bike parking in the Festival Area is prohibited.
Hydration stations supply water on course and water plus Gatorade at the finish. Post-race refreshments include a bag of pretzels, an apple, and a bagel with schmear. Race photos are delivered by email a few days after the event and are also available via the official race photographer.
Start corrals are pace-based, assigned AA through F, and are located on Well House Drive, about a five-minute walk from the Festival Area. Corral assignment is determined by the pace listed in the runner’s NYCRUNS Dashboard and can be updated there. Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions are accepted; athletes in those divisions are automatically entered if their account reflects the designation and should follow the event’s special arrival procedures.
Results are emailed and posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall (gun time) and to the top three in each specified age group (net/chip time). NYCRUNS members receive discounts and additional member benefits; registration closes the day before the race or earlier if capacity is reached.
