NYCRUNS Great Gobble 5K : Prospect Park, Brooklyn
The NYCRUNS Great Gobble 5K is a 5K road race held at Prospect Park on November 21, 2026. The course covers just under one full loop of the park with a final run up Center Drive to the finish. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF certified. The event includes a Festival Area in the Nethermead, which is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive; the race finishes on Center Drive near the Festival Area. Bike parking in the Festival Area is prohibited.
On race day organizers provide bag check with a single clear bag policy (NYCRUNS will provide a clear bag if needed and reserves the right to search contents), portable bathrooms, on-course water, and Gatorade and water at the finish. Post-race refreshments include pretzels, an apple, and a bagel with schmear. Race giveaways are a race shirt and a Finisher Medal; shirts are available on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. Participants receive event photos by email a few days after the race and may download one photo for free.
Bibs are available for pick up in the Festival Area on race day with a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members can have bibs mailed at no cost, while non-members may add bib mailing for a fee under stated conditions. The race uses pace based start corrals (AA through F) assigned from the NYCRUNS Dashboard and located on Well House Drive. Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions are accepted and entrants in those divisions are entered automatically when registered. Results are emailed and posted online; awards are given to the top three male, female, and nonbinary runners overall by gun time, and to the top three in each age group by net chip time. Standard no refunds and no transfers policy applies; strollers and dogs are not allowed and certain equipment or behavior may lead to disqualification.
