About the race
The Athora Great Bruges Marathon takes place on Saturday 10 October 2026 and Sunday 11 October 2026 in the historic centre of Bruges. Start is located at ’t Zand and the finish at the Grote Markt; the food market is also at ’t Zand. Exact locations for bib collection, bag drop, showers and changing rooms will be published later. The event offers a marathon, a half marathon and a family walk.
Registered runners receive a personalized bib (if registered online before 21 September), a chip and live tracking. Marathon entrants also receive an event T‑shirt with their registration. All finishers receive a medal and there is the option to have the medal engraved for an additional fee.
Aid stations are provided along the routes and at the finish. Changing rooms and showers are available and a supervised bag storage is provided; bags are labelled with matching stickers and are left at the owner s own risk. The parcours is measured and certified by World Athletics. Pacers will be present with coloured flags indicating target finish times.
The marathon has a time limit of six hours; the half marathon will be reopened to traffic according to a fixed scheme of seven minutes per kilometre. Name and distance changes are possible before 21 September under the published conditions; after that changes are subject to fees and on site availability.
