Athora Great Bruges Marathon

Athora Great Bruges Marathon is scheduled across the weekend of 10 and 11 October 2026 in Bruges. The event includes a Marathon, a Half Marathon and a Family Walk. The official start area is at ’t Zand and the finish is at the Grote Markt; the food market is located at ’t Zand. Exact locations for bib collection, bag drop, showers and changing rooms will be published later.

Participation packages for runners include a personalized bib with first name when registered online before Monday 21 September, a chip, a live tracking app, an event T-shirt for marathon entrants, race-day aid stations and supply at the finish, a unique finishers medal and free bag storage. Walkers receive a personalized bib when eligible, a medal, a culinary treat at Hotel- en Toerismeschool Spermalie and a drinks station at the finish. The participation package is not sent in advance; registered individuals receive a confirmation email before the event with details to collect their kit.

The marathon and half marathon courses are officially measured and World Athletics certified. Time limits apply: the marathon has a 6 hour limit and the half marathon will be reopened for traffic according to a strict schedule based on 8 minutes per kilometre. Pacemakers will be present and are identifiable by colored flags that indicate target finish times.
