Bangor Marathon Running Festival
Maine Endurance Sports Alliance (MESA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, organizes the Bangor Marathon Running Festival in Bangor, Maine. The event includes multiple race distances and uses the city and nearby roads for its courses. It is USATF sanctioned and Boston certified with certification numbers ME24008BK for the marathon and ME24007BK for the half marathon.
The full marathon course runs through Bangor along Valley Avenue and Broadway, with a turnaround in the town of Kenduskeag and a return to the finish at Bangor Waterfront Park. The half marathon follows much of the same route and has an earlier turnaround on outer Broadway shortly after Pushaw Road. Course maps are available from the organizer.
The organizer accepts participant bottles at the operations tent at the starting area; bottles are placed on a table at each water station for pickup. A vendor area is provided at the finish line. There is nearby parking, lodging, and dining in the Bangor area. Packet pickup is scheduled for June 12, 2027.
Cash awards are specified for the full marathon with prizes of $1,000, $500, and $250 for first, second, and third places for men and women. Cash awards for the half marathon will be announced by the organizer. The event also offers special medals for participants who complete multiple MESA races, including the Run the Highlands and Vacationland Triple Crown.
