Event details
The 15th Annual Freedom Run 5K is scheduled for July 4, 2026 in Bigfork, Montana. The event starts and finishes at the Competitive Timing arch in front of Lake Baked, located at 191 Mill Street, Bigfork, MT 59911. The course is an out-and-back that follows the Wild Mile / Bigfork Nature Trail. There is a water station at the halfway/turnaround point on the trail. Entry for the listed event is priced at $25 and the field is open to participants up to age 100. The Rotary Club of Bigfork organizes the run and Competitive Timing provides timing at the start and finish. Finish line amenities include cookies and medals.
Purpose and beneficiaries
Proceeds from the event benefit Grateful Nation Montana (GNM). GNM’s children’s fund provides financial scholarships to post-secondary schools and universities in Montana for children of Montana service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. GNM partners with the Folded Flag Foundation and Children of Fallen Patriots for additional education support. The race entry donations are directed to the children’s scholarship fund, and additional proceeds support Bigfork High School sports teams.
