15th Annual Freedom Run/Walk 5k - Bigfork
The Freedom Run/Walk 5k is a community athletic event held in Bigfork, Montana. Organised by the Rotary Club of Bigfork, the race takes place on Independence Day and is open to participants of various ages and abilities. The event features a single distance:
- 5 km run or walk
The course utilizes the Scenic Wild Mile Nature Trail, providing a natural setting for the participants. The start and finish lines are located at Lake Baked on Mill Street. Due to local holiday festivities, there is no parking permitted in the downtown area for the parade following the race.
Participants who complete the course receive medals and cookies at the finish line. Those who register before June 1 are guaranteed a commemorative shirt in their preferred size. The race timing is managed by Competitive Timing.
Financial proceeds from the event support several local and state initiatives. These include Grateful Nation Montana, which provides educational scholarships for the children of fallen military members from Montana.
