15th Annual Freedom Run 5k - Bigfork
The 15th Annual Freedom Run 5k in Bigfork takes place on July 4, 2026. The event starts and finishes at Competitive Timing’s arch in front of Lake Baked, located at 191 Mill Street, Bigfork, MT. The course is an out-and-back that follows the back of town and continues onto the Bigfork Nature Trail, also referred to as the Wild Mile Nature Trail.
The Run/Walk is open to all ages and abilities. Competitive timing is provided at the start and finish. A water station is placed at the halfway turnaround on the nature trail. At the finish line participants receive cookies and medals. The listed entry fee is $25, and registering before June 1 is recommended to guarantee a race shirt and desired shirt size.
The Rotary Club of Bigfork oversees event organization. Proceeds and registration donations benefit Grateful Nation Montana, a 501 c 3 organization that provides educational scholarships for children of Montana service members killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additional race proceeds support Bigfork High School sports programs. Volunteers, including members of the high school cross country team and coaching staff, assist with event operations.
