Event Overview

The Grateful for Graham 5k Run / Walk is organized by the Utica Roadrunners. This event raises funds for the EB Research Partnership, supporting research for a cure and treatments for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare genetic skin disorder. All proceeds from the event go directly to this cause.

Event Details

The event is a 5 km "out and back" run and walk. The course is described as fairly flat and follows the Rayhill Memorial (Route 840) Trail. It starts and finishes at the trailhead near BOCES on Middle Settlement Road in New Hartford, New York. Parking is available in the nearby BOCES parking lot.

Registration and Awards

Four registration categories are available:

  • Grateful for Graham 5k RUN & WALK - Adult (ages 18 and up)
  • Grateful for Graham 5k RUN & WALK - Youth (ages 6-17)
  • Grateful for Graham 5k Run/Walk (up to five years of age) - free entry
  • Grateful for Graham 5k Virtual Run/Walk

In-person run and walk registrations are chip-timed, except for children under five. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, and to first place in each ten-year age group (starting from ages 13-19). There is also a special stroller division with awards for the fastest female and male participants pushing a child.

Additional Information

Paid registrants receive a 2026 event t-shirt, with a deadline to guarantee size. Packet pickup occurs at The Sneaker Store in New Hartford the day before the event and at the start line on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
