Event Overview
The Grassroots Gardens 5K, 10K, and 15K is a running event in Niagara Falls, New York. The event raises funds and awareness for WNY Grassroots Gardens, a group that supports community gardening projects. The races are organized in partnership with iRunWNY and LaSalle Vineyard & Community Garden.
Course Information
All three races start and finish at LaSalle Waterfront Park on Buffalo Avenue. The course runs along the upper Niagara River. The 5K and 10K routes are out-and-back courses, each with a water station near their respective turnaround points. The 15K race consists of running the 5K course first, followed by the 10K course. The courses are USATF-certified.
Registration Details
Online registration remains open until the start of each race or until sold out. Race-day packet pickup and registration occur at LaSalle Waterfront Park.
- 5K: $35
- 10K: $40
- 15K: $45 Participants who register by the early deadline are guaranteed an event shirt in their requested size. Extra shirts may be available later on a first-come, first-served basis.
Awards and Amenities
All finishers receive a medal or an alternative gift item. The first-place overall male and female finishers in each distance are recognized. Age group award winners receive a decal for their medal/gift. Post-race, a celebration with music and light snacks is held at the nearby LaSalle Vineyards & Community Garden, a short walk from the finish area.
Logistics
Parking at LaSalle Waterfront Park is limited. Once full, participants can park on nearby side streets or at LaSalle Vineyards. Professional electronic timing is provided.
