Grandpa's Run for the Walleye
Grandpa's Run for the Walleye takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Crosslake Community Center in Crosslake, Minnesota. The event includes multiple races on certified courses and uses professional chip timing provided by Pickle Events.

- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
- Kids Sunfish Dash for children up to 10 years old
Registration opens April 13. Registration for the 5K and 10K is listed at $30 and for the Kids Sunfish Dash at $10. Registrants prior to June 23 are guaranteed event shirts for the 5K and 10K and children registered prior to June 23 are guaranteed a t-shirt. Credit cards are accepted. Packet pickup and on-site registration are available the day before and on race day.
Awards include prizes for the top male and female finishers in each of the 5K and 10K, and medals for the top three male and female finishers in each division. 5K divisions are 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. 10K divisions are 40 and under and 41 plus.
Strollers and dogs on leash are welcome in the 5K and 10K. Dog water dishes are provided at water stops, with two on the 5K and four on the 10K. The race is sponsored by the Whitefish Area Property Owners Association and proceeds support protection and enhancement of fish habitat on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes.
