Grahamtastic Connection 5K Run & Walk
The Grahamtastic Connection 5K is a community run/walk held at the Nasson Community Center (Nasson Gym) in Springvale, Maine. The event marks the organization’s 28th year of providing technology to children with cancer and other serious illnesses to support education and social and emotional well-being. Technology provided includes iPads, laptops, robots and Internet access.
The course is an out-and-back that starts at Bradeen Street and finishes at the Nasson Community Center. The route is partially on road and mostly on a well-groomed Rail Trail portion of the Mousam Way, with a turnaround at Deering Pond. Participants can run or walk amid fall foliage along the trail.
The event includes a kids fun run and a Robot Race option that allows children to race virtually via robot if they cannot attend in person. The event is dog friendly; dogs must be leashed and non-aggressive with people and other dogs. Free t-shirts are offered to donors who raise $250 or more, and any remaining shirts will be available for sale on the day of the event.
