Gower Ultra 50, Ultra Bach & Trail Race (26 September 2026)

The event comprises three long-distance trail races that follow the Wales Coast Path in the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The races use marked coastal paths, additional arrows or flags where required, and a map with instructions for navigation. GPS tracking is provided.

Route

The Ultra 50 starts on cliffs above Limeslade Bay, drops to Mumbles Pier, then follows the coast around Swansea Bay and through Clyne Woods to the north coast and Gowerton. The route crosses the Loughor Estuary salt marshes near Weobley Castle, where the Ultra Bach joins for its final 34 miles. From Llandimore the course moves along cliff tops, beaches and coves, including a 5 kilometre crossing of Rhossili Bay and passage by Worms Head. The route continues east along the southern Gower coast, crossing farmland and visiting beaches and bays such as Port Eynon, Oxwich, Three Cliffs, Caswell and Langland before finishing at Rams Tor.

Entries and services

Entries open Friday 28 November 2025 and close Friday 18 September 2026. Minimum age is 18. Entry fees listed are: Ultra 50 £85, Ultra Bach £55, Trail £42. An optional coach start for the Trail and Ultra Bach is available for £10 (limited places). The event offers regular checkpoints with food, finishers medal and food, an on-site running shop, event medical and safety cover, marshals, and optional race t-shirt and hoody.
