Gopher to Badger Race
The Gopher to Badger Race is scheduled for August 8, 2026. The event starts in the Stillwater, Minnesota area and finishes in Hudson, Wisconsin, with runners crossing the I-94 bridge over the St. Croix River. The event has taken place annually since 1995.

Race details and amenities
All courses are USATF certified and sanctioned. Course certification numbers are: Half MN-14035RR, 10K MN-19046RR, 5K MN-19045RR. Timing is provided by Mtec Results and participant tracking is available through the Run Stillwater app. Runners receive a gender-specific cotton blend shirt (availability depends on registration method), a collectible finisher medal, and personalized bibs when deadlines are met. Additional race services include bag drop at each start, pacers for the half marathon, staffed water stations with water and Gatorade, restrooms at starts and at roughly two-mile intervals, finish-line food and beverages, a selfie clock at the finish, video finish and free downloadable photos, and shower facilities at River Valley Athletic Club for registered runners. Keepsake age-group awards are mailed to top three finishers in each age group. A Buy-One/Get-One offer at Lift Bridge Brewing tap rooms is available to participants.
Logistics and registration
Registration options include online registration, will call, and in-person sign-up at packet pickup. Packet pickup locations include the Public Lands Woodbury store (9160 Hudson Rd., Woodbury, MN) and the St. Croix County Government Center / Grandview Park area (1101 Carmichael Rd, Hudson, WI). Grandview Park is the primary parking and shuttle area, with overflow at Hudson Schools; Prairie View Center parking is for mall patrons only. Shuttles run between Grandview Park and the start locations and between the finish area and Grandview Park.
Kids Fun Run
A kids fun run is offered at the event. The distance is approximately 0.3 miles (about 1,600 feet). Entry fee is $21 per child; space is limited to children 10 and under. Children receive a bib (not timed), a finisher ribbon and medal, and finisher refreshments. One adult may run with each child. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
