Gopher to Badger Races - August 8, 2026
The Gopher to Badger event on August 8, 2026 offers three distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
For 2026 the race course is adjusted because construction on the Interstate 94 bridge walkway prevents the traditional crossing into Wisconsin. All distances will run on loop courses based at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. Routes are being certified and sanctioned by U.S.A. Track & Field; course maps will be posted when available. Course certification numbers for the event are Half MN-14035RR, 10K MN-19046RR, and 5K MN-19045RR.
Runners registered on or before April 19, 2026 were offered limited options due to this change: keep the existing registration, transfer the entry to another 2026 Run Stillwater race, or defer the entry to 2027. Transfer or deferral requests require a submitted form by May 15, 2026; registration is not refundable or transferable to another participant. Organizers reserve the right to alter courses.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Bridgewater Bank in Lake Elmo and on race day at the Washington County Fairgrounds, Building A. The fairgrounds provide ample parking and central staging for starts and the common finish line.
A Kids Fun Run is part of the event, approximately 0.3 miles within Lakefront Park, for children 10 and under with a bib, finisher ribbon, and medal. Other event services include USATF-certified timing by Mtec Results, participant tracking via the Run Stillwater app, gender-specific shirts, finisher medals, staffed water stations, bag drop, restrooms, finish-line recovery food and beverages, free race photos, and shower facilities at River Valley Athletic Club.
