Golden State - Marina, CA
The Golden State trail races take place at Fort Ord National Monument and Fort Ord Day Camp in the Marina/East Garrison area. Courses vary from prior winter Fort Ord events and together showcase diverse terrain and vegetation, including maritime chaparral, grasslands, marshes, and fields of wildflowers. Runners will encounter rolling hills, smooth single-track, sandy slopes, and exposed fire roads. Inside Trail Racing runs the event under a Special Recreation Permit issued by the Bureau of Land Management.

Check-in and bib pickup occur the day before at Fleet Feet Monterey and on race morning at Fort Ord Day Camp near Watkins Gate Road and W. Camp Street. The 50K and 35K races have a 9 hour time limit; all runners must be off course by 4:30 PM. Parking is available within the Fort Ord Day Camp site adjacent to the Start/Finish area; carpooling is encouraged and parking outside the Day Camp or within the East Garrison community is not permitted.
This is a cupless event; participants must carry their own reusable cup or bottle. Reusable cups and soft flasks are available for purchase at the event. Aid stations offer a variety of foods and beverages and basic first aid items. Organizers recommend carrying at least one 20 oz bottle during the run.
Shirt orders are tri-blend performance tees with features including UPF 30; to guarantee a shirt and size, registration must be completed by June 6, 2026. Awards include overall trophies, distance prizes, finishers medals, a 50K pint glass, a dead last finisher award, and age-group medals for multiple age categories and genders. Entry fees are non-refundable; a 50 percent credit toward a future Inside Trail Racing event is available only if cancellation occurs at least three weeks before the race, with credits expiring after one year.
