Gobbler Hobbler 10K & Mashed Potato Mile
Since 1985 this fall event stages a scenic chip timed 10 km run that follows the Fox River and passes through downtown Oswego. The course begins and ends at Fox Chase Elementary School in Oswego, Illinois. Volunteers provide three water stations along the 10 km route, and participants are offered complimentary walking pancakes after the run. The event includes a separate Mashed Potato Mile.

Packet pick-up is organised at community locations including the Civic Center Concession Stand and Fox Chase Elementary School. Participants may pick up packets for another runner if they present a photo of that runner’s driver’s license. Race day registration is listed with fees of 10K $55 and 1 Mile $40. Runners pre-registered by 10/29 are guaranteed a hooded sweatshirt. There are no refunds for athletic events.
Awards are presented for both distances. The 10K awards include first female and male overall, first masters (40+) female and male, and the top three male and female athletes in age groups from 13 & Under up to 70+. The Mashed Potato Mile awards go to the top three male and female finishers in 11 & Under and 12 & Over divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
