Gobbler Hobbler 10K & Mashed Potato Mile
The Gobbler Hobbler has been a recurring tradition in Oswego, Illinois, since 1985. Organized by the Oswegoland Park District, the event offers a scenic route for participants through downtown Oswego and alongside the Fox River. The race begins and ends at Fox Chase Elementary School.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- 10 km
- 1 mile (Mashed Potato Mile)
The 10 km course is chip-timed by ShaZam Racing. For the comfort of the runners, the organizers provide three water stations located at various points along the route. After the run, athletes are provided with complimentary walking pancakes at the event site.
Participants who register by late October are guaranteed a hooded sweatshirt as part of their registration. Those who register after this date may receive a sweatshirt while supplies last. Awards are presented in the Fox Chase gym following the races. Recognition is given to top overall finishers, masters categories, and multiple age groups ranging from 11 and under to 70 and over. Packet pick-up is available on designated days prior to the race at the Civic Center Concession Stand and Fox Chase Elementary School.
