Gobbler Hobbler 10K & Mashed Potato Mile
The Gobbler Hobbler is a fall running event held at Fox Chase Elementary School in Oswego, Illinois. The program includes a chip timed 10K that runs along the Fox River and through downtown Oswego, and a one mile Mashed Potato Mile. The course begins and ends at Fox Chase Elementary. The event has been held since 1985.
Volunteers staff three water stations along the 10K course. Runners registered by late October are guaranteed a hooded sweatshirt; after that date sweatshirts are available while supplies last. After the races, participants are invited to enjoy complimentary walking pancakes. There are no refunds for athletic events.
Awards are given for both distances. The Mashed Potato Mile awards the top three males and top three females in two divisions: 11 and under, and 12 and over by gun time. The 10K presents awards for overall male and female winners, male and female masters 40 and over, and top three males and females across multiple age groups. Award ceremonies are held in the Fox Chase gym.
Packet pick up is available on the days before the event and on race day at designated locations, including the Civic Center Concession Stand in Montgomery and Fox Chase Elementary School. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
