Event overview
The Gobbler Hobbler takes place on November 8, 2026, at Fox Chase Elementary, 260 Fox Chase Drive North, Oswego, IL. The event is organized by the Oswegoland Park District with timing and scoring by ShaZam Racing. The main race is a chip-timed 10K that begins and ends at Fox Chase Elementary and runs along the Fox River and through downtown Oswego. The event also includes a one-mile event called the Mashed Potato Mile.

The 10K course has three water stations on course. Participants registered by late October are guaranteed a hooded sweatshirt; after that date sweatshirts are available while supplies last. Registration fees increase over time and a higher race-day fee applies. There are no refunds for athletic events. Complimentary walking pancakes are provided after the run.
Awards are given by gun time. The Mashed Potato Mile awards top three males and top three females in two age divisions: 11 & under and 12 & over. The 10K awards include overall winners and masters (40+) plus top three finishers by male and female age groups across multiple age brackets. Packet pick-up is available before the race at a pre-race location and at Fox Chase Elementary, and participants may pick up packets for others.
