Event Overview
Go Wild Santa Cruz is a map adventure event located at Harvey West Park in California. Participants navigate through open spaces, redwood and mixed forests, and meadows to locate up to 20 checkpoints. The event offers two distinct time limits:
- 2 Hour Scramble
- 4 Hour Scramble
Course and Navigation
Participants use a custom map with a 1:12,500 scale and 5-meter elevation contours to find checkpoints. Each checkpoint is marked with a circle on the map and corresponds to a physical colored stand with a blue timing station. Runners use a timing chip (SportIdent "ePunch") to register their visit at each station. Checkpoints carry different point values based on their distance and difficulty. Points are deducted for finishing after the designated time limit.
