Go Gray for a Cure 5K
Go Gray for a Cure, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds brain cancer research, provides education, raises awareness, and works to improve quality of life for people living with brain cancer. The organizer states that about 1 million people in the United States live with a primary brain tumor and that roughly 94,390 more will be diagnosed this year. Glioblastoma is identified as the most commonly occurring primary malignant brain tumor, and pediatric brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer related death for children ages 0 to 14.
The event is the fifth annual Go Gray for a Cure 5K. The in person 5K is scheduled at Cauley Creek Park, 7255 Bell Rd, Johns Creek, GA on May 16, 2026. The race is chip timed and is an official Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race qualifying event. The course is USATF certified. Early packet pick up is available at Big Peach Running in Suwanee; day of packet pick up and restrooms are located at the 5K staging area. Same day registration is available on site. Strollers, wheelchairs and dogs are allowed at the back of the start. A remembrance ceremony and survivor walk take place at the main stage. Awards will be given to top three overall male and female finishers, top three masters male and female, and top three male and female in age groups from 10 under through 80 plus.
A virtual 5K runs from May 16 through May 31, 2026 and may be completed anywhere in the United States. Registration includes a Go Gray for a Cure 5K T shirt or tank, a finisher medal, a race bib, and a donation to brain cancer research. Registration opens March 9, 2026; in person registration closes April 25, 2026 and virtual registration closes May 31, 2026. The registration fee is $35.00.
