Go Girls Go Fall 5k
This is a semi-annual 5-kilometer road run or walk held in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, that benefits the Healthy Communities Partnership and supports the Go Girls Go! afterschool girls' empowerment and running program. The event takes place at Southgate, Washington Street and the Rail Trail on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The program supported by the event meets twice weekly and combines lessons on topics such as self-esteem, peer relationships, decision-making, nutrition, diversity, and emotions with regular running to improve physical fitness. Participants in the event may be runners or walkers and people of any gender and age are welcome.
The course is a 5 kilometer figure eight on road surfaces. Timing is provided by Timber Hill Timing and the event is chip timed; finish times are recorded from the starting gun and chip finish to produce gun times. Awards are given to the first three overall male and female finishers and to first masters male and female. All participants must wear a timing chip on their shoe and their bib number on their chest to receive an official time and to be eligible for awards.
Online registration opens July 1. Entry fees vary by registration date: $30 through October 11 (includes a short-sleeve t-shirt), $30 from October 12 to October 30, and $35 on event day.
