Independence Day Mile Run

The Go Fourth One Mile Run/Walk takes place in Longview, Washington, as part of the local Independence Day festivities. Hosted by the Cowlitz Valley Runners, this event follows the official parade route of the Go Fourth Festival. The course starts at the historic Monticello Hotel and finishes at Lake Sacajawea Park near Martin's Dock.

Participants travel along a flat and fast path where spectators gather to wait for the subsequent parade. This arrangement provides a scenic route through the community with crowds lining the streets. The event is organized in partnership with Helping Every Veteran In Need (HEVIN), a non-profit organization that supports veterans.

The available distance for this event is:

  • 1 Mile

The race proceeds are utilized for a specific community purpose, as the organizing club applies the funds Toward scholarships for local high school seniors pursuing higher education. Participants can also choose to make donations to veteran support services during the registration process.

Top finishers in the male and female categories receive medals, while ribbons are provided for second and third place finishers. Additional awards are designated for the first male and female finishers over the age of 50. Event shirts are available for those who order by the specified June deadline, with distribution occurring in the hotel lobby on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
