LPRF Glow in the Park 5K - Liberty
The LPRF Glow in the Park 5K is the second annual evening 5K running event hosted by the Liberty Parks & Rec Foundation. The course begins at the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Rd., Liberty, Missouri, and continues through Westboro and Canterbury Park. The event is presented as a family fun run on the trail; participants may wear bright race gear and glowing accessories.
Proceeds from the event support the Liberty Parks & Rec Foundation Youth Scholarship Program. The Liberty Parks & Rec Foundation was established in 2006 to create a parks expansion fund and to provide financial assistance so low-income youth and families can access programs and Liberty Community Center memberships through scholarship assistance. Since the scholarship program began in 2009, the foundation has provided more than $353,174 in scholarships, assisting 3,685 individuals.
Registration for the 5K opens January 1, 2027 and closes August 14, 2027. The listed registration fee is $40. The event description emphasizes community support for youth scholarships and the use of the park and trail system in the Liberty area.
