Glendalough Tucker Trail
The Glendalough Tucker Trail is an 80 km mountain running event based on three out and back loops around the Glendalough Valley in County Wicklow. The route follows way marked trails including St Kevin’s Way, the Spink and the Wicklow Way, and uses existing trail signage with only major junctions marked. The total climb is in the region of 3,000 m and the course is run as a continuous single stage that must be completed within 12 hours.
The event is rated Extreme (10) and GPS navigation is allowed. Mandatory kit is Level C - Advanced and must be carried; required items include a waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, foil blanket or bivvy, waterproof full leg cover, means to carry at least 500 mL water, emergency food, a map of the route area and a compass. The exact kit to be carried may be finalised on the day depending on conditions and will be advised at registration. Random kit checks may be carried out and lack of required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification.
Entry fee is €40. To enter a competitor must be at least 18 years old on the day and be a member of IMRA for 2026; no cash or on the day entries are accepted. The start, finish and transition area are beside the Upper Lake car park in the Glendalough Valley. GPS coordinates for the location are 53 00'22.58"N 6 20'36.24"W.
