Glenbeigh Glencar Half/Full Marathon 2026
The event is a multi-distance running fundraiser to support Glenbeigh Glencar GAA Club and Star of the Laune AC. It is part of the Glenbeigh Summer Festival and aims to raise funds to improve and develop club facilities.

- 10 km
- 5 km
The marathon starts in Glencar, loops around the mountains of Glenbeigh, and finishes at the Glenbeigh Glencar GAA pitch. The marathon and half marathon courses have been officially measured in line with Athletics Ireland requirements. A permit has been approved for the event, cert. no 26/389. Route maps are available for the marathon and half marathon.
Transport and logistics information is provided to participants. A shuttle bus is provided to carry marathon runners from the finish area to the marathon start; a separate shuttle service operates for the 10 km start and does not require booking. There is a six hour time limit on the full marathon; an earlier start option exists for those who require additional time but those runners must make their own way to the start and notify the organisers.
Prizes include cash awards for first, second and third places in male and female categories for the full and half marathons. Each participant receives a medal; a 1/4 zip top is available to purchase. Race number and jersey collection take place at Glenbeigh GAA pitch in the days around the event. On-the-day registration is permitted subject to availability.
