Glen Tay Block Race
The Glen Tay Block Race is a small-town road race held annually on the last Thursday of August. First run in 1907 and reinstated in 1967, the event features a 14.7 km loop that starts and finishes at the Perth Museum in downtown Perth, Ontario (11 Gore Street East, K7H 1H4).
The course follows country roads. Participants are asked to aim for a finish time of 90 minutes or less. The overall record is 44:28 set in 2024 and the women's record is 52:55 set in 2022.
Entry costs 22.61 CAD. Day-of registration is available for 25 CAD and requires cash with exact change. Online registration closes on Tuesday, August 25. Awards include a blue Champion's t-shirt and a first-place medal for overall winners, medals and a yellow race t-shirt for top local finishers, and medals and t-shirts for age-group 1st to 3rd placings; winners' names are engraved on the event trophies.
