About the race
The Cobb & Co Backyard Ultra is held at Cobb & Co Nine Mile Camping Ground, 1484 Noosa Road, Tandur, Gympie Qld. The event uses the Backyard Ultra format: competitors run a 6.7 km loop inside the campground and must complete each lap within the hour to continue. Each lap resets and the event continues until only one runner completes a lap on their own. Entry cost is $195.00.
Minimum age to enter is 15 years; participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian present at the event. Race refunds are available until 1 November 2026 and are subject to a $30 administration fee; transfers to another person or event are not permitted. The course is entirely within the camping ground and is marked with reflective orange and silver flagging tape, red directional arrows at intersections, and red crosses indicating wrong turns. Elevation gain is 32 m per loop.
Head torches are mandatory for any night loops. Competitors may not leave the course during a lap except to use the restroom. No personal aid or assistance is allowed on the course; crew and spectators are restricted to designated areas and may not enter the course or starting corral.
Day visit passes for crew and spectators are payable on arrival and are valid until 4pm; after 4pm normal camping fees apply. Accommodation is available on site with camping and glamping options; bookings for onsite accommodation must be made directly with Cobb & Co. First aid is available at the start/finish area.
