Mercy Health Glass City Marathon, Toledo, Ohio
The Mercy Health Glass City Marathon is an annual spring running event produced by the Toledo Roadrunners Club in Toledo, Ohio. The race weekend includes a full marathon that is USATF certified and sanctioned, a half marathon, a 5-person marathon relay, a 5K run/walk, and a children’s program. The marathon course finishes inside the University of Toledo Glass Bowl Stadium. Mercy Health is a continuing sponsor and provides medical teams and running specialists for the event.
The half marathon shares the start line with the marathon and relay and uses much of the same route before splitting just past mile 9.5 to return to the stadium finish. The 5K starts on campus and finishes on the Glass Bowl field. Kids events serve ages 2 to 12 with options such as a Fun Run, 1/2 mile, and 1 mile; each child registrant receives a t-shirt, finisher medal, and mug.
Additional event elements noted for participants include certified course maps, pacers, awards for elites and age groups, live tracking, a two day packet pickup expo, volunteer support of more than 1,500 people, and charity fundraising opportunities.
