Mercy Health Glass City Marathon
The Mercy Health Glass City Marathon is a long-running athletic event organized by the Toledo Roadrunners Club in Toledo, Ohio. The event takes place on the campus of the University of Toledo and features a variety of distances held over a single weekend in April. The marathon course is recognized as a fast and flat route, frequently ranking among the top races for participants seeking to achieve a Boston Marathon qualifying time.
The event includes several race options to accommodate different preferences:
- Marathon (26.2 miles): A USATF certified course and Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group Qualifier.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): A flat course that shares a start line with the full marathon.
- 5-Person Relay: A team event where five participants complete the full marathon distance together.
- 5K Run/Walk: A 3.1-mile course held on Saturday morning around the university campus.
- Kids Marathon: Various distance options for children ages 2 to 12.
The marathon, half marathon, and 5K races conclude with a finish on the field inside the University of Toledo Glass Bowl Stadium. Participants have access to a Celebration Village at the finish line, which provides food and refreshments. The event also includes a 2-day health and fitness expo where participants can collect their race packets.
The courses utilized are USATF certified and sanctioned, staying within area neighborhoods and the university grounds.
