2nd Annual Give Cancer the Boot 5k Run/Walk
The 2nd Annual Give Cancer the Boot event takes place at the Zapata County Fairgrounds in Zapata, Texas. This community sports event features options for both runners and walkers, with activities centered around the Zapata County Pavilion at 23rd Avenue and Glenn Street.
Participation options include:
- 5 km (5000 meters) run
- 5 km (5000 meters) walk
- 150 meters kids run for ages 10 and under
The run is divided into several age categories for both male and female participants, starting from age 10 and under up to 70 and over. Awards are provided for top performers, including medals for the top three male and female finishers in each age group and trophies for the overall male and female winners of the 5 km run. Children participating in the shorter run receive ribbons upon finishing.
Registration is available in advance or on the day of the event. Packet pick-up is organized for the day prior to the race at the IBC Annex.
