Girls on the Run Southern Idaho Twin Falls 5K (Magic Valley Celebratory 5K)
This event is the end-of-season 5K celebration for Girls on the Run Southern Idaho. It takes place on October 31 at Canyon Ridge High School, 300 N College Rd W, Twin Falls, with the course using the practice football fields and nearby areas.
The event format is a noncompetitive, celebratory 5K (3.1 miles). Every registered participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal. Program participants and coaches are registered through the council and attend free of charge; community members and running buddies are asked to provide a suggested $10 donation. All registrations include a liability waiver.
On-site activities include a Happy Hair station and Bling Your Bib, plus council merchandise for sale. Parking is available in the lot off Cheney Drive and Riverhawk Loop, across from the tennis courts next to the football practice field. Organizers recommend arriving early to connect with teams, warm up, and complete check-in.
The course is described as a nature trail with packed dirt, woodchips, and some loose gravel and is intended to be accessible so participants can walk, run, roll, push, or skip at their own pace. Safety measures include mandatory race bibs, assignment of running buddies for participants, course monitoring with head counts, and a council safety plan. Volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check and support roles such as registration, marshaling, water stations, and cheer stations.
