About the race
Girls on the Run Inland Empire holds an end-of-season celebratory 5K (3.1 miles) that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The event is tentatively set for 11/14/26 at Martin Luther King High School, 9301 Wood Rd, Riverside, CA 92508.
The 5K is designed for participants of all abilities. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal. Program participants and coaches are registered through the council; family members, friends and community members may also join but must register separately. Registration fees for non-program community participants are listed in tiered pricing for adults and children.
On-site activities and amenities include bib pick up, bib decorating, face painting, temporary tattoos, friendship bracelet stations, GOTR Village stations, vendors and merchandise for sale. The event offers water stations and other season-highlight features. The course is accessible for people with disabilities and designated parking spots are available.
Safety measures include required race bibs, assignment of running buddies, course monitoring and head counts, and a council safety plan that trains staff and volunteers to respond to emergencies. Running buddies are encouraged and may be designated by the council or a parent or guardian and may accompany a participant for the full course.
