Girls on the Run Inland Empire 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Inland Empire holds an end of season 5K as a celebratory closing event for program participants. The event is intended to give participants a clear sense of accomplishment and to reinforce confidence by completing the course.
The 5K is a 3.1 mile course and the council lists a tentative date of 11/14/26. The event location is Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, California. Program participants and coaches are registered through the council; family members and community participants may also register separately.
On site activities include face painting, temporary tattoos, bib decorating, friendship bracelet stations, GOTR Village stations and vendors, merchandise sales, water stations and a happy hair station. Every registered participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal. Registration forms include liability waivers and non program participant fees increase in the weeks before the event.
The council describes multiple safety and access measures: race bibs are required, a running buddy system is used so participants have a designated companion, the course is monitored with head counts, and staff and volunteers follow a safety plan. The event is described as accessible for participants who walk, run, push or roll, with designated parking available.
Volunteers and local sponsors support the event. The council offers volunteer opportunities and space for resource booths as part of the 5K celebration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
