Girls on the Run Greater Houston 5K : Fall Season Celebratory 5K
The Fall Season Celebratory 5K takes place on November 7, 2026 at Rice University, 6100 Main St., Houston, TX 77005. It is a season-closing event for Girls on the Run Greater Houston that offers program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment by completing a 5K course. The 5K course is 3.1 miles and the event is presented as a noncompetitive, celebratory experience for participants of all abilities.
Registration pricing is tiered: early bird online registration from August 1 to October 10 is $25, general online registration from October 10 to November 6 at 3 PM is $40, and race day in-person registration on November 7 is $50. Program participants and coaches are already registered and do not need to register. All registrants must complete a liability waiver. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal.
Logistics and safety measures include free parking near the race site with access to Lots 13A and 13B from Greenbriar, designated parking for accessibility needs, required race bibs, course monitoring with head counts, and a safety plan for staff and volunteers. Running Buddies may accompany participants for the full course and must register. Volunteers assist with roles such as registration, course marshals, running buddies, water stations, and cheer stations; volunteers appointed through the council undergo background checks and virtual orientations are scheduled the week before the event.
