Girls on the Run Spring 5K - Frederick County
The Girls on the Run Spring 5K in Frederick County is a celebratory event marking the conclusion of a youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. This event takes place at Hood College and serves to honor the progress and goal achievement of participants who have integrated movement and running into their after-school curriculum.
The event offers three distinct options for participation:
- 5K (Timed)
- 5K (Untimed)
- Virtual 5K
All participants, whether in the timed or untimed category, receive a finisher medal. For those in the timed event, awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers. The schedule includes an ADA/Accessibility start followed by the general 5K start. A family fun zone is also available on-site during the event day.
Participants can attend an early packet pick-up at Charm City Run Frederick the Friday before the race. There is no parking allowed on the Hood College Campus; instead, parking is directed to the top floor of the Frederick Health Garage. Those who register by the designated deadline in early May are eligible for various giveaways, including t-shirts or tank tops. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
