Purpose and history
The Donor Dash has been held since 1996 to promote organ and tissue donation. The event occurs during National Donate Life Month to raise awareness, register donors, and pay tribute to those who gave the gift of life. More than a quarter of a million people of all ages have taken part in the Donor Dash since its founding. The event includes a virtual option so participants can join from other locations.
