Giants Head Marathon Weekend
Giants Head Marathon Weekend takes place in Sydling St Nicholas, Dorchester, Dorset on the weekend of 20th and 21st June 2026. The event has received awards, including a Gold Award in 2025, and is based around the village community and Village Hall.
The programme runs across two days. Saturday features a marathon and a 10K, an evening barn dance is held at the village hall, and Sunday includes a half marathon and the LittleFeet Bell Race. Routes run through the Sydling and Cerne valleys and are hilly, with steep climbs and sharp descents.

- LittleFeet Bell Race - £10
The LittleFeet Bell Race is open to children and adults. Entrants climb a hill, complete a short task at the top, then run downhill carrying a bell. LittleFeet entrants do not receive a finishers medal and must register; payment for this race is taken at registration on the day and only cash is accepted.
Practical information for participants includes a mandatory minimum of 500 ml fluid to carry, a marked course with advice to download the GPX file, bag drop tents on race days, and stated cut-off times for the marathon and half marathon. Camping is available for Friday and Saturday nights; toilet facilities are on site and showers are at the village hall. Evening meals and pre-orderable event T-shirts are available.
