About the race
Giants Head Weekend is a village-based running event held in Sydling St Nicholas, Dorchester, over the weekend of 18th to 20th June 2027. The event weekend includes a marathon and a 10K on Saturday, and a half marathon plus the family LittleFeet Bell Race on Sunday. The event has received a Raceceheck Gold Award in 2026 and is presented by BigFeat Events. Routes run through the Sydling and Cerne valleys and are hilly, with steep climbs and sharp descents.
The LittleFeet Bell Race invites children and adults to reach the top of a hill, complete a short task, then run downhill while wearing a bell. LittleFeet entrants must register in advance and pay on the day in cash; LittleFeet entrants do not receive a finishers medal. Canicross entries are not accepted. On-site camping is available for Friday and Saturday nights; one camping pitch is priced at £30 and is based on a family of four.
Toilet facilities will be provided in the camping field, and showers are available at the village hall. Evening meals for Friday and Saturday can be pre-ordered with vegetarian options noted; specific prices are to be confirmed by the village. Runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid. A GPX file of the route is provided for download and a bag drop tent will be available on race days.
