Event overview
The Giants Head Marathon Weekend takes place in Sydling St. Nicholas, Dorchester, on the weekend of 20 and 21 June 2026. The event is organised by BigFeat Events and received a Gold Award in 2025. Races run through the Sydling and Cerne valleys and include steep climbs and sharp descents. Canicross entries are not accepted. Runners are required to carry at least 500 ml of fluid. Organisers advise participants to download the GPX file of the route and to wear and carry clothing suitable for changeable weather. A bag drop tent is available on each race day.

Age limits are specified for each race. The LittleFeet Bell Race is open to children and includes a climb to the top of a hill with a task before running back down.
Facilities and services
Camping is available for Friday and Saturday nights at £30 per pitch (family of four; no electric hook up). Toilet facilities are in the camping field and showers are at the village hall. Evening meals can be pre-ordered for Friday and Saturday with separate adult and child prices. Event T-shirts are available by pre-order only and can be collected at Event HQ.
