Giants Head Weekend
Giants Head Marathon Weekend takes place in Sydling St Nicholas, Dorchester on the weekend of 20 and 21 June 2026. The programme runs across two days and includes a mix of trail races, evening community events and family activities.
Races scheduled over the weekend include:
- Marathon - £52
- 10K - £32
- Half Marathon - £42
- LittleFeet Bell Race - £10
Routes run through the Sydling and Cerne valleys and are described as hilly, with steep climbs and sharp descents. The LittleFeet Bell Race is open to children and adults; it requires participants to reach the top of a hill, complete a short task, then run downhill while wearing a bell. LittleFeet entrants must register in advance but pay only on the day, cash only, and do not receive a finishers medal.
Camping is available for Friday and Saturday nights; one camping pitch for a family of four is listed at £30, with toilet facilities in the camping field and showers at the village hall. Evening meals for Friday and Saturday can be pre-ordered, with adult and child portions and vegetarian options.
Practical arrangements include a registration tent at the start/finish area, a bag drop on each race day, mandatory carrying of at least 500 ml of fluid, advised route GPX downloads, and cut-off times for longer races.
