Gettysburg Festival of Races : April 24–25, 2027
The Gettysburg Festival of Races combines four races across a single weekend near 2632 Emmitsburg Rd, Gettysburg, PA. Routes travel on wooded back-country roads, past fields and farms, and cross the Mason-Dixon Line into Maryland and back. The event no longer runs through Gettysburg National Military Park due to park policy changes.
Distances and event days:
- Abraham 5K Saturday; scenic rolling hills, starts and ends at the Aspire Hotel
- Lincoln 5K Sunday; different 5K course with rolling back roads
- Gettysburg North-South 10K Sunday; certified USATF course for Boston qualifying
- Gettysburg Blue-Gray Half Marathon Sunday; begins and ends at the Eisenhower Conference Center
The weekend includes a health and fitness expo, packet pick-up options, and a pasta dinner tied to multi-race packages. Bundled entries combine multiple races and may include a pasta dinner and Gettysburg tour. Race logistics note partial road closures with police, park rangers, and certified flaggers directing traffic; some course sections remain open to light traffic. Spectators are not allowed on the rural course except volunteers working aid stations. Aid stations provide water and electrolyte beverage approximately every 1.5 to 2 miles.
All finishers receive race swag including a finisher shirt, goodie bag, commemorative pint glass, digital finisher photos, and medals for the 5K, 10K, and half marathon. Team divisions and age-group awards are specified for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
