Gettysburg Festival of Races
The Gettysburg Festival of Races combines three events held on the same weekend near the Gettysburg battlefield, with start and finish at the Eisenhower Conference Center in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Courses run on scenic, wooded back-country roads through fields and farms and cross the Mason-Dixon Line into Maryland and back. The marathon is USATF certified for Boston qualifying and is run as a two-loop course; the half marathon shares the first 13.1 miles with the marathon. Portions of the course remain open to light traffic with police, park rangers, and certified flaggers directing runners.
Distances offered:
- Marathon: Gettysburg North South Marathon, Boston-certified, two-loop course
- Half Marathon: Gettysburg Blue Gray Half Marathon, shares first 13.1 miles with marathon
- 5K: 2L Race Services 5K on rolling back roads
Event weekend includes a health and fitness expo with local vendors and a post-race party for participants; bib tear tags provide entry to the food tent and one complimentary beer for those 21 or older. Amenities for all registrants include a finisher shirt, a sponsor goodie bag, chip timing, fluid stations every 1.5 to 2 miles, a commemorative pint glass, free digital finisher photos, and a digital finisher certificate. Finisher medals are awarded for the marathon and half marathon only. Participant caps are set for each event and a charity fundraising option offers free entry for runners who meet specified minimums for Warrior Canine Connection.
