Gettysburg Festival of Races
The Gettysburg Festival of Races takes place April 25-26, 2026 at 3632 Emmitsburg Road in Gettysburg, PA. The event combines three separate races held over a single weekend and centers on courses in southern Adams County.
The course route travels along wooded back country roads, past fields and farms, and crosses the historic Mason Dixon line into Maryland and back. The event no longer runs through the Gettysburg National Military Park due to a park policy change; the current route uses rural roads outside the park.
Distances offered:
- Marathon: Boston qualifying, two loops
- Half marathon: 13.1 miles, shares first half with the marathon
- 5K: scenic rolling hills
Saturday includes a health and fitness expo with local vendors. Participant caps are set for each race: the marathon 500, the half marathon 1500, and the 5K 500.
All registrants receive a finisher shirt, a sponsor goodie bag, a commemorative pint glass, chip timing, and free digital finisher photos. Fluid stations are located approximately every 1.5 to 2 miles. Finishers medals are awarded for the marathon and half marathon; there is no finisher medal for the 5K. Post-race food and a beer garden are available for participants aged 21 and over.
Race policies note that strollers and pets are not permitted on course and spectators are generally not allowed except volunteers working aid stations. Packet shipping and same day pickup options are available for a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
