George Freedom Days Run
The George Freedom Days Run takes place in George, Iowa. The event offers two activities: a 5K run/walk and a 1.25 mile-ish walk. Both events start and finish at Locker Park, near the intersection of Dakota and Main Streets.
The 5K route showcases the George Recreational Trail. Most of the distance is on this city trail, with only the first half-mile on city streets. The course is mostly flat with a few minor hills. Participants can see scenery including residential housing, a campground, wooded areas, and fields.
The 1.25-mile walk is untimed and described as leisurely. It starts with the 5K participants before veering off to walk the north portion of the George Recreational Trail, finishing at the same line. Finishers of both events receive a t-shirt and refreshments.
