About the race
The MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks takes place on 11 October 2026 with start and finish in the Olympiapark in Munich. The event uses a one-lap marathon course that runs through central and eastern parts of the city and highlights several well-known locations.
The route and highlights include Marienplatz, Siegestor, Odeonsplatz, the Englischer Garten, the Werksviertel and the Olympiapark. The event program comprises multiple competition formats and community runs:
- Marathon – one lap through the city
- Sport Schuster Halbmarathon by Brooks – half marathon distance
- 10 KM Run – start in the Werksviertel
- Marathon Staffel – relay format
- Dallmayr Coffee Run – 4.2 km shake-out run in the Olympiapark with free coffee at the finish
- Kids Run – events for ages 4 to 14 with 1 km and 3 km distances
News items for 2026 note that all start places for the Sport Schuster Halbmarathon by Brooks were allocated as of 27 July 2026, while entries for the marathon, 10 km and relay remained available. Marathon entrants are eligible to take part in the HEART-BEAT study on post-race heart recovery. Volunteers and a range of partners support the organisation.
