Event overview
The GEF Run for Fun is a community 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk presented by the Gilbert Education Foundation and Gilbert Public Schools on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The event takes place at Campo Verde High School, 3870 S. Quartz Street, Gilbert, AZ. Proceeds support health and enrichment programs for Gilbert Public Schools students and staff.

A community fiesta follows the running events and includes a live DJ, food trucks, arts and crafts, family games and prizes, and a mascot race. Participants receive a custom event Dri-Fit tech shirt (or a $5 discount for opting out) and a custom finisher’s medal. The 5K includes age-group awards for the top three finishers in each age division and real-time results and photos available for 5K participants.
Registration and race logistics
Registration fees are listed for regular and student rates, with team discounts available for pairs who register together. Packet pick-up is available the day before at Cadence Running Company and on race day at the event site. Race-day registration accepts cash and credit; checks are not accepted. The event welcomes wheelchairs and strollers. Roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed, and pets are not permitted on school property.
