GEF Run for Fun 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk and GPS Community Fiesta
The event takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Campo Verde High School, 3870 S. Quartz Street, Gilbert, AZ 85297. It is presented by the Gilbert Education Foundation and Gilbert Public Schools and managed by StartLine Racing. Proceeds support health and enrichment programs for Gilbert Public Schools students and staff. The Gilbert Public Schools Community Fiesta follows the runs and continues until midday, with a live DJ, food trucks, arts and crafts, family games and prizes, and a mascot race.

Registration is open from Nov 18 to Feb 20 for the online period shown. Published entry fees are: 5K $35, 5K student (ages 3-18) $25, 1 Mile $30, and 1 Mile student (ages 3-18) $15. Team registration of two participants receives a 10% discount when both register together. Race-day registration accepts cash and credit card; checks are not accepted. Race-day registration fees are higher for non-students and students (student ID required).
Participants receive a custom event Dri-Fit tech shirt (option to decline shirt for a $5 discount) and a finisher's medal. Male and female age-group awards are given to the top three in each age group for 5K participants, with age groups ranging from 5 & 6 through 80 & Over. Pre- and post-race hydration is provided. Real-time results and photos are available online and via a mobile app for 5K participants. Packet pickup is available the day before at Cadence Running Company (3107 S Gilbert Road, Gilbert) and at the race site on event morning. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome; roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed. No pets on school property. Courses may be changed if deemed unsafe.
