About the race
GCTR Monthly Pop-Up Run is a series of free trail runs hosted from Nerang Sports Centre and using nearby Nerang Forest trails. The event offers multiple participation options: an early bonus loop of about 50–55 minutes that follows much of the Halloween Hustle course, a main loop of about 60–75 minutes on a mix of wider fire trail and single track, and a combined option that links both loops for extra distance. Pace groups are organised for each option, with the bonus loop run in 1–2 pace groups and the main loop in 2–3 pace groups.
Refreshments and snacks are provided on site; registrants are asked to register so organisers can cater appropriately. The run is supported by Gold Coast City Council's Active & Healthy program and is part of a broader monthly trail schedule for 2026–27 that lists planned dates and venues, including Northern Gold Coast special, Hellfire Pass, Currumbin, Mudgeeraba, Reedy Creek, Tallebudgera, Numinbah, The Spit, and Southern Gold Coast special. Routes are described as technical and undulating within the Nerang Forest trail network. The event aims to offer recurring trail running opportunities on the Gold Coast with flexible options to suit participants seeking different durations and distances.
