Run For The Water : Austin
Run For The Water is an annual fundraising road race held in downtown Austin. The 2026 event is the 20th anniversary and takes place on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The event offers multiple distances:
- 10 Miler
- 5K
- Kids K
The course runs from downtown toward Tarrytown, moving from hillier sections toward the waterfront, with a finish designed to be flat. A timed Hill Challenge identifies the fastest runner on a 600 meter segment of the 10 Miler; participation in the Hill Challenge is automatic for all 10 Miler entrants and winners are recognized at the Winner’s Circle.
The event is presented by the Gazelle Foundation as a fundraising activity. The organizer states that 100 percent of event proceeds support the foundation’s mission to build water systems in Burundi.
