Run For The Water - Austin (20th Anniversary)
Race day is Sunday, November 8, 2026 in downtown Austin. The event is a waterfront downtown race that includes neighborhoods from downtown to Tarrytown and a variety of terrain, with a finish designed to be flat and speedy.
Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 10 Miler
- Kids K
- Global Run
The 10 Miler includes a timed Hill Challenge on a 600 meter segment of the course. Participation in the Hill Challenge is automatic for all 10 Miler entrants and winners are recognized at the Winner’s Circle.
Run For The Water is a fundraising event produced by the Gazelle Foundation. The organizer directs 100% of event proceeds back to its mission to fund construction of water systems in Burundi. The foundation frames access to clean water as connected to better health, education, jobs, and stronger communities.
The event is presented as Austin’s fall downtown waterfront race and as the city’s only 10 Miler for that season. Route details and community running activities are promoted through a club presence on Strava and related event resources. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
