Gavin Tipper 5k
The Gavin Tipper 5k is a memorial 5 kilometre run taking place on Thursday, 11 June 2026. All proceeds from the race, excluding the booking fee, are directed to Action Heart, the Dudley cardiac rehabilitation charity.
The event honours Gavin Tipper. He was a long time member of DK Rugby Club and later coached children at local clubs including Black Country Triathletes, Tipton Harriers and Halesowen cycling. His involvement with youth sport and encouragement of children in sport are part of the event's origin.
Action Heart began as a cardiac rehabilitation programme in Dudley in 1978 and later became a registered charity. The organisation is contracted by Dudley Health Authority and operates from the Action Heart Centre at Russells Hall Hospital, Block C. The centre supports more than 700 patients at a time with programmes of exercise and lifestyle management that can last up to 12 months.
