Gator Steps for Lung Disease 5K, Gainesville FL

Gator Steps for Lung Disease is the third annual 5K walk/run held in Gainesville on March 7, 2026 at the UF Cancer & Genetics Research Complex. The event is organized in collaboration with the University of Florida Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine and the Fowler Lung Foundation and benefits the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine.

The 5K aims to expedite research into various lung diseases, support development of treatments, and promote patient education. All proceeds support patients and their families undergoing treatment for pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis at UF Health.

The community program includes a range of activities for friends and families, speakers, and local organizations and vendors that are free and available to attendees. The event itself is free to attend; there is a small participation fee for the 5K. Listed entry pricing for the 5K is $35 with a reduced rate of $25 for ages 1 to 12.
