Gateway to the Glens - Kirrie 10K
The Kirrie 10K, titled Gateway to the Glens, is a community-focused road race in Kirriemuir, in the heart of Angus, held on 6 September 2026. The event starts and finishes at the Peter Pan playpark and follows a scenic loop on quiet rural roads.
Runners follow an undulating 10 km course that includes rolling hills, open farmland, and views towards the Angus Glens. The profile features steady climbs and faster descents, offering a varied running experience rather than a flat route. PB Timings will provide chip timing and all finishers receive a medal.
Entries close on 31 August 2026 and no on-the-day entries are available. The event lists a total of 150 places and is currently on a waiting list. Minimum age is 17 on race day. Race numbers are collected from registration at Kirriemuir Hill Pavilion (Camera Obscura). Prizes are awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers and to first place in age group categories.
The organiser has removed single-use plastic bottles and will use paper cups at the on-course water station and at the finish. The race is described as having strong local support and a relaxed, community atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
