Gate2Gate Trail Run

The Gate2Gate Trail Run is held on trails in the northern region of San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park near Alachua, Florida. The route uses single-track mountain bike trails, open fields, rolling hills and double-track hiking and birding trails. After the first 5 miles the course moves into the southern park trails, follows the yellow loop through the western portion, passes the CSO area, and returns via a lesser known connector to the north-end biking trails.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 25K one circuit of the course
  • 50K two circuits of the course

The course is open for 8 hours. Aid stations are located at these mile points: Loop 1 at miles 5, 9, 12 and 15.5; Loop 2 at miles 20.5, 24.75, 28 and 31.5. Stations provide water, electrolyte drink (Powerade), basic ultra foods such as PB&J sandwiches, and a selection of sweets and salty items. Gels, S-Caps and medications like ibuprofen will not be available. Cups are not provided; participants must carry their own bottles or hydration systems. Single-serving gel packs are discouraged to reduce trail litter.

The event is a benefit race; net profits will be donated to the Friends of San Felasco. Every finisher receives a custom medal and a custom glass, and 50K finishers receive a custom trucker hat. A TailGate2Gate celebration zone is planned for race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
