Gate Gallop

The Gate Gallop is a long-standing community running event that has been held for over 25 years. The event serves as a fundraiser for St Giles Hospice and has raised over £100,000 for the organization since its inception. The race headquarters is located at the Anker Valley Sports Complex in Tamworth. On the day of the event, the venue features music and various community stalls for participants and spectators.

The event offers two trail race distances:

10 km (minimum age 15)
5 km (minimum age 9)

The 10 km race is part of the Burton & District Summer League. Participants finishing the 10 km distance receive a plantable seeded medal. Prizes are awarded to the winners of the races. Previous results for the event are available from 2021 through 2024. The entry fee for the 10 km is £18, while the 5 km distance is £9, with additional administration fees applied to both.
