Garden of Reflection 5K (9/11 Memorial Race)
The Garden of Reflection event on September 20, 2026, marks the 25th remembrance of 9/11 and raises money for an endowment to preserve the Garden of Reflection memorial. The event includes in-person races at the memorial property in Lower Makefield, Pennsylvania, and a virtual option that can be completed remotely.
Distances offered include:
- 10K Run - new for 2026
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile course on park property
- Virtual option with flexible distances and dates
All courses begin and end on the Garden of Reflection property. The 1 mile course remains entirely within the park. The 5K and 10K courses use neighborhood streets and include some rolling hills; organizers describe the courses as relatively flat and fast with modest elevation changes. The 5K course was modified in 2026 to include more routing on park property.
Awards are given for top overall and masters finishers and for age-group winners in standard age brackets. Awards are presented after the races and are not mailed. New for 2026, all participants will receive a custom designed race medal and ribbon. Participants registered by September 11 are eligible to receive the event race shirt; registrants after that date may receive shirts if available.
