Galashiels Come+Tri Event Overview
The Galashiels Come+Tri is a multi-sport event taking place on 9 May 2026. This competition is part of the Live Borders Triathlon Series 2026 and utilizes the facilities at the Galashiels Community Campus. The event features a three-part course including swimming, cycling, and running.
Course Details
The event consists of the following distances:
- 400m pool-based swim
- 10k cycle route
- 2.5k run
The swim takes place in a 25-meter, six-lane swimming facility. Participants are organized into waves based on their submitted estimated swim times. The transition area is located in an adjacent space that is sealed off for the duration of the event.
The cycling portion follows a route that includes a climb over Windyknowe and continues onto the A72. The path passes the Torwoodlee estate and leads to Clovenfords village, where participants turn to return to the pool area. The running segment is held on a woodland trail through the Gala Policies, which contains the ruins of the original New Gala House.
