Event Overview
Frozen Hare 2 is a Swim and TriFest event, which is the final event of the Frozen Hare Series. It takes place in Broomall, Pennsylvania.
Venue
The event headquarters is at Lawrence Park Swim Club, located at 293 Langford Rd., Broomall, PA 19008. The venue features an outdoor heated 25-meter pool. The water temperature is generally heated to 81°F (27°C) or warmer. Swimmers may be required to share a lane. There is plenty of parking available on site.
Events and Format
The event offers a wide variety of individual and multisport activities. Participants can choose from numerous events, including pool swims, runs, aquathlons, triathlons, duathlons, and aquabikes. A key feature is that for multisport events, no transition times are recorded; only the time of each individual activity leg is kept. Furthermore, the swim, bike, and run segments for multisport events may be completed in any order the participant wishes, but must all be done on the same calendar day.
The bike and run legs are 100% self-supported. No traffic control or course markings are provided. Cyclists and runners must follow the rules of the road and are advised to bring GPS directions or be very familiar with the routes. As an alternative to road cycling, participants may opt to complete the cycling segment on a stationary bike trainer (either at home or brought on-site); these stationary rides will constitute separate divisions scored independently from road rides. Participants in the cycling and running portions are expected to self-report their times.
Participant Details
All registered participants receive a race t-shirt, provided their entry is received by February 1. Custom awards are given to the top three overall finishers and the top three in each age group for every event. There is no awards ceremony; awards are available soon after all results are finalized.
Pre-registration is strongly advised. Participants should arrive at least 30 minutes before their assigned wave start time to check in. A small amount of food and drinks will be available, but bringing personal supplies is recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
