Frozen Footrace
Frozen Footrace is scheduled for November 21, 2026 at 1 Peninsula Dr, Erie, PA 16505 on Presque Isle. The event is held in association with the Polar Plunge and benefits Special Olympics Pennsylvania as part of the 2024–2025 Polar Plunge season, which includes multiple plunges across the state.
The event program includes several distances:
- 5K out-and-back on Old Lake Road and the multi-purpose trail.
- 10K following the same out-and-back course twice.
- 1 Mile Chilly Walk on the same out-and-back route.
Registration opens May 31, 2026 and closes November 20, 2026. The listed registration fee for each entry is $35.00. Onsite registration is also available.
All running and walking routes use the old Lake Road and adjacent multi-purpose trail on Presque Isle. The footraces take place before the Polar Plunge activities at the same venue, allowing participants to take part in both the land events and the plunge into Lake Erie on the same day.
