Frozen Foot Challenge Adventure Race — March 14, 2026
The Frozen Foot Challenge Adventure Race is in its seventh year at Pocahontas State Park, Chesterfield, VA (10301 State Park Rd, 23832). The park includes over 40 miles of IMBA Bronze mountain bike trails. The event features both mountain biking on single-track trails and off-trail foot navigation through open woods and small rolling hills. The course contains mountain bike and trekking sections only.
Events and fees
- 6 Hour - $140; part of the Virginia State Parks Adventure Series
- 10.5 Hour - $200; offers longer distances and a more challenging course design
Course details and race day
The mountain bike sections are described as fast and flowy single track. Foot navigation sections travel off-trail through open woods with small rolling hills. Race day operations include a gate opening, a transition area for equipment and bike staging, packet pick-up, and a pre-race brief. After each event there are provisions for food and awards; the 10.5 Hour event also lists a campfire during the post-race period.
